A warm welcome to a professional, safe and confidential Counselling and Psychotherapy Service. You can address concerns and challenges, talk about your thoughts, feelings, experiences, dreams and aspirations, get to know yourself more fully and find a more meaningful and wholesome way of living your life.

I offer you a sacred space to look at your interpersonal, emotional or behavioural concerns, relationship issues, feelings of general dissatisfaction, mental health concerns or other important matters in your life and embark on a journey of personal growth, self- awareness and healing. I know for myself that healing truly begins to take place as we move through our stories and explore that which is preventing us from living life to the fullest.

What is Counselling

Counselling is generally targeted to short term consultations, usually centered around a specific issue needing a practical and immediate solution or outcome.

What is Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a pathway for self-exploration and self-discovery. We begin by gently looking at our past conditioning and progressively we transform outdated ways of navigating and being in the world. We re-discover and re-connect with those aspects of ourselves that have been squashed down, disowned and forgotten, we observe the organic unfolding of self-expression and authenticity, and we finally find a way to align with what is important, meaningful and purposeful in our life.

How I work 

It is important for me that you understand how I practice to avoid misunderstandings.

I do not offer instant solutions, advice, magic recipes, or instant fixes because I believe you have your own rhythm and wisdom. Therefore, I trust you will arrive to any new insights and meaning making at your own pace.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, trained to work in a psychotherapeutic manner. Talking therapy is not enough to create substantial change because it makes us go around in circles and just scratch the surface of the root of our ongoing issues. Change and healing requires will engaged, patience and perseverance and the kind of shift that I work for with clients takes some time.

Several weeks or even a few months is too little time for us to make any REAL difference in the long patterns that have led you to struggle and feel in the ways you do now. You are nevertheless, free to consult with me for as few or as many sessions as you like and choose. We can talk about this and discuss. You may wish to have and introductory session to see if we are the right fit for each other.

What to expect during a Counselling or Psychotherapy appointment with me

During sessions, I  encourage you to stay present and grounded, tracking your mind, body and feelings as they are portals to the various ways in which you experience and perceive life.  I also invite you to look deeper into what gets evoked in you in the here and now as you move towards what feels right for you.

Mindful attention and a sensorimotor approach are at the core of the work we do; research shows this approach helps re-train the nervous system to regulate discomfort and rewires the brain.

l respectfully and carefully listen for and interpret unconscious material. Your thinking will be challenged with utmost respect and kindness.

Our relationship is the bedrock of our journey together. You will bring to the relational space certain ways and modes of relating that might be limiting, even outdated. How you interact with me and behave in therapy provides insight into your relational patterns with others. My job is to help you decode the unconscious part of your communication and understand the ways in which you relate with yourself and the outside world so that you develop right relating skills and  experience more fulfilling and loving interactions with others.

 Counselling and Psychotherapy for Individuals and Couples  

Counselling and Psychotherapy Services are offered in a quiet and tranquil setting to individuals and couples living in Hamilton, Cambridge, Matamata, Morrinsville, wider Waikato and Waipa Districts.  I welcome the opportunity to talk to you about your concerns or challenges.

  • Individual sessions: weekly or fortnightly sessions only (to be negotiated based on client needs and after first assessment).
  • Couples therapy: requires combined and individual sessions.
  • Online sessions offered via zoom.
  • Self- referrals are welcome.

Duration: 1 hr. of counselling or psychotherapy.

Working hours: 8.00 am to 5.00 pm (late appointments by arrangement only).

Payment method: Required 48 hrs. prior to session.

Cancellation fee: 48 hours’ notice required, or full fee applies.
